Fuel leaking at cap LOTS OF PRESSURE!!!

Maybe I bought a vented cap the other day? It is identical to the one WH is selling. Maybe that is why is was letting the fuel drip out from the cap instead of blowing a line in the tank?
'77 351w- Explorer EFI, 4R70W, 4-link, lockers, 4.56, 35" MT/Rs with a severe rock addiction.
